Tuesday night’s game turned out to be a cracker, with seven goals and the Steels showing great character to come from behind three times to take all three points.
The game was a great advertisement for non-league football, two teams going hammer and tongs at each other in front of a decent crowd of 211, end to end football for ninety minutes and all that after the players had done a full day’s work, excellent value for money.
We are fortunate to be able to have a crowd to watch this level of football our numbers are higher this season and I sense a momentum growing within the community of not only Stocksbridge but the surrounding areas towards the club, it would be great if we could continue to grow that momentum and get up to maximum of four hundred supporters at our home games, it is still possible to pay on the gate so tell your friends and colleagues.
This afternoon our attention turns to the FA Trophy a competition we have had some success in over the last few years, today’s opponents will provide a stern test but we have proved in the past that we can rise to the occasion, so get behind the boys and help get them the next round.
