Good afternoon and welcome to our visitors from Newcastle Town FC we hope you enjoy our facilities at the Eco-Power Stadium,unfortunately we cannot offer our usual hospitality due to covid restrictions.
If we were to sum up the first month of the season the word inconsistency would come to mind with excellent performances against Sheffield ,Lincoln ,Belper and even in the defeat to Stalybridge followed up by lethargic performances in our other games where individual errors have proven costly.It has not helped with the many changes to the team that have occurred due to injuries and players having to self isolate due to covid symptoms affecting family members .Historically we tend to get stronger as we move on in the season so hopefully we will start to string some results together.
We have had a really positive response to our new look programme with many compliments on the format and information it contains , and it is part of our commitment to try and make your matchday experience more enjoyable it is a challenge at the moment due to the restrictions we are all under but we will try our best in difficult circumstances if you have any suggestions you think might improve your matchday experience please contact Roger or myself. I know some of you are frustrated at not being able to use the bar so are we ,but like us Sara and her team are having to adhere to government guidance and I can assure you it is just as frustrating for them not being able to accommodate you all .
Today will be a good test with our opponents enjoying a good start to the season,but if the real Steels side turns up we have the potential to collect all three points .
