Good afternoon and welcome to our visitors from Stalybridge Celtic FC,we hope you enjoy your visit to the Eco-Power Stadium,unfortunately we cannot offer our usual hospitality,hopefully things will get back to normal soon.
Well here we are back in action after what has been a long and uncertain period of time, and what a way to start back in the renamed Eco-Power stadium,with an FA cup tie in front of a BBC audience today will be a good game for Chris and the players who have enjoyed a good pre season with five-wins and two draws from seven friendlies.,which seems to indicate they can carry on the good form they were showing from last season before it was cut short. Both teams met a few years ago when we beat Stalybridge in our good FA trophy run,so the boys can go into the game with confidence high.
Today’s game is a great way to start our partnership with our new sponsors Eco-Power Environmental and we welcome Louis and Dave along with their families for their first visit.Everybody at the club would like to thank Louis and Dave for forming the partnership and we look forward to what we hope will be a successful alliance .
Hopefully you will have noticed the work that has taken place around the ground since July ,this has been completed by a small army of volunteers who have put in long hours to brighten up the stadium so a big thank you to them without who non league clubs like ourselves couldn’t survive.
In an age when footballer’s don’t always get a good press and get in the papers for all the wrong reasons I would like to highlight how tremendous our players have been over the last six months , their contribution and loyalty to the club has been superb and it is testimony to Chris and the management team for getting this group together.
Lastly I would like to thank all the people who contributed to our just giving page the sum raised was a big help in our quest for survival.
All the above contributions have made sure this club can compete at this level and hopefully challenge to move higher in the near future.
