Chairman’s Notes

Chairman's views ahead of big kick off

Good afternoon and welcome to our visitors from Stockton Town FC we hope you enjoy your visit ,this will be the first of many new clubs at  the Eco-Power stadium this season and we are looking forward to the new challenges they will present.

We are all hoping that the new season will see us replicate the form we showed two seasons ago when we were challenging for a play off place, last season never really got going and we weren’t able to gather any momentum with the small number of games played.

Since the start of the pandemic some of the familiar faces you were used to seeing  around the ground have retired with Phil Burkinshaw handing P.A. duties over to the very capable  Martin Salkeld in the P.A.box and Martin is doing a fantastic  job. Angela Cefferty decided to step down from her duties on the snack bar after four years and we thank her and husband Wayne for the excellent service they provided ,however I am sure Ann and Jacqueline will be able to keep you well fed and watered this season.

Last but certainly not least was the retirement of Peter and Marina Kenney  they have served the club for many ,many years  in several capacities and Peter played for the club back in the day.  They have been a welcoming feature in our committee  room providing superb  hospitality  over the last few years .Due to the lockdown the club hasn’t been able to fully express their gratitude for the service they have provided but we will mark the occasion during this season, Peter is still carrying on his duties as club president, non league clubs wouldn’t survive without their volunteers.

Let’s hope today’s game gets us off to a good start to what will hopefully be a uninterrupted season.
Thank you for your support enjoy the game and have a safe journey home.
