Liam McFadyen has left Stocksbridge Park Steels after eight years at the club.
The centre-back joined the Steels in 2014, following manager Chris Hilton from Worsborough Bridge. Since then, he has become a fan favourite at the Eco Power Environmental Stadium and was beloved for his tough tackling and leadership in defence. It was the latter which led to him being appointed as the club captain during his tenure at Stocksbridge.
McFadyen returned from sabbatical to play in this season but would finish the season on a dual registration with Handsworth where he anchored the defence alongside fellow Steel Rob Ludlam.
However, after eight years of service, McFadyen will now depart the club. In his time with the club he made 220 appearances, scoring 9 goals, broken down in to the following:
