Joe Lumsden departs on loan

Stocksbridge Park Steels have loaned Joe Lumsden out to Pontefract Collieries for the rest of the season.

This was Lumsden’s second spell with Stocksbridge having scored 74 goals during his Steels career, making him the 5th highest scorer in the club’s history. This season his top moment was coming off the bench to score twice against former club Tadcaster Albion to seal an important win early in Ian Richards’ reign as manager.

Lumsden will now move on loan to our Northern Premier League rivals Pontefract Collieries for the rest of the season. The striker has played for Pontefract before and is well liked there.

Following the move, Richards said: “We’d like to wish Joe all the best at Pontefract Collieries.

“Unfortunately, it hasn’t worked out this season with injuries and missing games hampering his time on the pitch.

“We hope he can now get a run of games and enjoy his football again.”
