Stocksbridge Park Steels via our social media channels last night have confirmed the departure of young attacker Kane Swinburn to our nearest rivals Penistone Church.
The former Barnsley youngster originally signed for the Steels two years ago despite announcing his arrival with a a spectacular goal against Sheffield United in pre-season, never became a first team regular.
Swinburn spent a large part of last season with Athersley Recreation where he again made an instant impact by scoring a hat-trick on his debut in a defeat against Handsworth.
He signed arrived in time to make his Penistone Church against Prestwich Heys in the FA Vase. Everyone at Stocksbridge would like to wish him good luck at his new club.
