Stocksbridge Park Steels are pleased to announced that our successful U18 manager Mark Fretwell has accepted the role as our reserve team manager.
Fretwell has served as the U18s Manager for the last two years. Over his time as the U18s Manager, the youth side saw a lot of success including reaching the local cup final two years in a row, winning the trophy this time around. He also led the U18s on an invincible season, only dropping points once on the way to the league title.
In this new role, Fretwell will be looking to build on the success of the U18s season last year and retain the players to go through the pathway and be potential stars of the future for the first team.
I am absolutely delighted to welcome Mark as the new manager of Stocksbridge Park Steels Reserves.
His success with the U18s speaks for itself after his tremendous success in the league cup competitions his team has been in.
Many of his players have already been involved in the reserves during the last few seasons and we think it is ideal that he steps up to this role which will help players from our youth teams develop into ones capable of performing in our first team.Stocksbridge Park Steels Chairman Graham Furness
