Reece Fielding has today announced he is departing Stocksbridge for a new challenge. The young defender came through the Doncaster Rovers academy and even made an appearance for the first team in a Checkatrade Trophy match. After a brief stint with Ossett United, he moved to Stocksbridge where he has been a regular for several years.
He signed for Stocksbridge four years and has been a regular in defence ever since, pairing with the likes of Liam McFadyen, Matthew Reay and Lee Cooksey. One of his most memorable moments came this year as he scored in the last minute to seal a big win over rivals Worksop Town.
However, he will now be leaving Stocksbridge when his contract expires this summer and will seek a new challenge.
Ian Richarda speaking to Adam: “We wish Reece all the very best for the future. His commitment on the pitch during last season, playing with minor injuries on a number of occasions was excellent. We didn’t want him to leave but respect his decision and hope he can continue his development as a player elsewhere.”
