The local derby between Stocksbridge Park Steels and Sheffield FC scheduled for 27th December, 2021 with a 3pm kick off has been designated as a fundraising fixture in support of the Hub Food Bank , based in the Ikon Campus in Stocksbridge. The Hub is an independent foodbank, one of 2,500 food banks in the UK, and part of the Sheffield Foodbank network, which also includes the S6 and Philadelphia food banks
The Foodbank is operated by ten local volunteers and has been in operation for over ten years. During its life, the Foodbank has supported over four thousand families, from Stocksbridge and Oughtibridge, but also from Penistone and as far away as Rotherham. The foodbank is managed by Ray and Veronica Hawley , and needs particular foodstuffs, hygiene products or cash donations. There will be a food drop box and cash donation collection on the afternoon
Sheffield FC, Penistone Church FC, and Liberty Speciality Steel have all agreed to help promote the event.
Ahead of the 27th December, there will be a drop box and opportunity for cash donations at Steels’ next two home games-versus Lincoln United on 27th November, and Ossett United on the 11th December.
Please support this fantastic cause, give as generously as you feel you can, and enjoy some brilliant local, Non-League football at Bracken Moor.
