Stocksbridge Park Steels under 18s kick off the 2022/2023 season in style last night, with an emphatic 5 nil win at National North League Farsley Celtic, in the FA Youth Cup.
The Steels young guns dominated throughout the game, and were far too strong for the home side who struggled to find any rhythm as the Steels overran them all over the pitch, with a display of simple passing football, played with intensity and a pace that tore the opposition away.
However, it took 38 minutes to find the opening goal as Brad Adams fired home, the goal was to be the start of total control, and Oliver Nowak would score the second on 41 minutes, to put the Steels 2 up at half time.
The second half saw a change up front with Ben Ransford replacing Matty Lee, and this was the nail in the coffin for Farsley, with the Steels pilling on the pressure and further goals were scored by Mackenzie Stocks on 72 mins, Ben Ransford 75 mins, and Oliver Novak completed a good night for the lads with his second on 89 mins.
Difficult to pick a man of the match, as this was a real team effort, and a team that certainly can play football, a top performance
