Managers Pontefract Notes

We provide a warm welcome to all connected to Pontefract Collieries, for today’s game at the Eco-Power Stadium, Ponte Colls come in to this game on the back of 4 wins, therefore we know being anything less than best will not bring us 3 points.

Since my last programme notes, we had an entertaining but not always enjoyable (from a manager’s perspective) win against Lincoln United. I thought the players were excellent going forward and caused real threat every time we had the ball in the final third, which for me, resulted in the best no9 in this league, Luke Mangham getting his second hat trick in consecutive home games. Unfortunately, our defensive display wasn’t up to the standard expected but in the Sheffield FC game on the Tuesday we rectified this with keeping a clean sheet and gaining all 3 points. That now puts us 3 wins from 4 and should provide us with the belief to go finish the season strongly and aim for a top 7 finish.

Last week unfortunately the Tadcaster game was called off as the expected poor weather descended on the surrounding area. However, leaving the ground at 2pm we didn’t expect the subsequent weather to cause the damage that it did. We wish everyone connected to Tadcaster Albion the very best in getting the club back to working order after the torrential and relentless rain that followed our departure on Saturday.

As ever, we thank you for your continued support of the football club and hope we see an entertaining game today with us coming out on top and claiming all 3 points.

Enjoy the game,

Ian
